Taurus Launches Zero-Knowledge Privacy Layer for USDC, Boosting Institutional Adoption
Swiss crypto custody firm Taurus has introduced an open-source zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) privacy solution for stablecoins, starting with Circle's USDC. The technology, built on Aztec Network, encrypts transaction details while preserving regulatory visibility—a key advancement for institutional adoption.
This privacy LAYER tackles major security concerns in digital asset transactions by hiding balances and transfers from public view. It prevents wallet activity surveillance and safeguards high-net-worth individuals from physical threats. The development builds on Taurus' previous work with ZKP applications for security tokens.
Stablecoins remain at the forefront of crypto innovation, with the U.S. Senate recently passing groundbreaking legislation to establish regulatory frameworks. The sector's market cap has surged to $250 billion, marking a 12-fold increase since 2020. Taurus' solution delivers military-grade privacy for both cash and security components of blockchain transactions.
